The title of this blog is 'Cheat Sheets on Writing the Perfect Book', I know; but I write poetry too. I've actually been writing poetry longer than stories. Shall I give you advice on poetry now? Sure, why not? But one problem: I can't. There is no right or wrong way to created a poem. Sure there are different types of poems, but those are guidelines for beginners that want to just pass English in school so they can get to Gym. Nobody likes Gym, well at least I don't. But I like English, and sitting through lectures about stuff I already know how to do is boring. So don't use guidelines, don't use rules; that's what poetry is about. If you have writers block, write a poem about how angry and frustrated you are with writers block.
I love it when people write from the heart, and make it gritty. Don't be so picky. Don't even listen to me! I'm just a writer who sits on her computer watching kitten livestreams more than actually writing. Go, make trouble, write the best poem you can.
this is where i ramble; have fun
